Good Afternoon Maestro Aaron.

31:28
Yes, we are!

31:44
hello Aaron good to see you

32:46
Thank you for making past meetings available.

33:12
Hello. Olga Hakopyan, Burbank Adult School

33:20
The SB 68 discussion was so helpful! I had a student asking about documentation for her NC hours just a few days after the LARAEC presentation.

34:07
Shout out to all of you joining us from outside LARAEC! We appreciate you joining us!

37:18
Is it just me? screen is blurry.

37:50
Shout out to ABOUT STUDENTS Consortium!

38:14
Great to be here!!!!

38:52
Eddy Carias from LAUSD/AFOC

40:36
Preach it, Aaron!!

53:11
We like to start LARAEC events with random questions to get people engaged and sharing fun facts.

53:40
I start classes with a vocabulary review, dictation. Students can type words in the chatbox and include definitions

54:00
That's a great idea, Sara!

54:05
Music is a great idea!

54:06
I build community by doing breakout rooms every class period in which grammar points and topics are adapted to personal questions to that prompt students to share about themselves, their friends, family

54:17
Good idea, Aimee!

54:32
Great IDEAS!

54:35
Great community builder!

54:35
I think music playing when students "walk-in" sets the tone....even when we are in-person.

54:43
Michele plays the best music!!

54:55
My colleague was playing the BeeGees "Staying Alive" for his students :)

01:03:12
As a student myself, teacher check-in emails, quotes, and feedback keep me in the game each week.

01:07:58
Students are asked for a motivational quote. Each Monday their quotes are the posted above the weekly agenda.

01:08:10
Nice!

01:09:16
Motivational "quote" excellent idea!

01:10:25
Great idea Gloria!

01:12:29
I understand that children should not attend Zoom sessions. We are teaching adults.

01:15:08
I use Google forms to review grammar errors from a variety of assignments. The students work in breakout rooms and help each other correct the errors. (this idea from Ryan Detweiler with CATESOL)

01:15:39
I provided a template for a biographical “poem” and gave students time in pairs in breakout rooms to gather info from a partner to complete the poem template. They later posted the poems in a Canvas Discussion page. Students liked it! It was fun and easy and communicative.

01:16:05
Very cool, Aimee!

01:16:11
great ideas Sara and Aimee!

01:16:21
Sara, my students also like collaborative correcting!

01:16:27
What a great idea to provide feedback in the form of audio or video instead of text

01:19:44
Epic Meaning...

01:23:59
How did you get the real-time subtitles to show during this Zoom?

01:24:09
Could you give an example of The Daily Dose? Which article or video have you assigned?

01:24:14
I loved your presentation. Thank you so much.

01:24:28
